New Hire Training

Big I Arkansas has everything you need to train your new employees and set them up for success as they begin a career in the insurance industry! Our New Hire Training Plan outlines four steps to turn an insurance newbie into a knowledgeable, experienced producer. Investing in your new employees with the proper education and training from the beginning can put them on the path to greater long-term success for your agency. Big I Arkansas members receive discounted pricing on Big I education and training programs.

1. Pre-Licensing

As one of Arkansas's top pre-licensing education providers, Big I Arkansas will guide your new hire through the licensing process and prepare them for the Arkansas License Exam. Courses are available in-person at the Big I Arkansas Education & Technology Center, or online through our self-paced learning system to provide a learning solution to fit every student's needs.

2. My Agency Campus

Big I Arkansas has partnered with New Level Partners, LLC to introduce My Agency Campus, an online training solution for both new hires and experienced staff within the industry. A variety of courses are available to educate new insurance professionals on insurance coverage basics, business skills, management skills, and more! Courses are on-demand, cost-effective, and allow employers to monitor and measure students' comprehension throughout their training.

New Hire Training courses provide:
  • Proven content that is fully narrated, on-demand and interactive
  • Final assessment at the end of each course to test your knowledge
  • Certificate of completion issued after successful completion of curriculum
  • Transcripts for students to track and print
  • Access for 4-months per individual to the selected curriculum

INTRODUCTION TO THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY (3 HOURS CE)

The Introduction to Insurance curriculum is perfect for employees or interns new to the industry. The courses in this bundle include Introduction to Insurance, Introduction to Property & Casualty, Introduction to Distribution Channels, Introduction to Risk Transfer and Policy Design, and Introduction to Errors & Omissions.

PERSONAL LINES COVERAGE BASICS (8 HOURS CE)

The Personal Lines Coverage Basics curriculum addresses key insurance topics and core coverages. The curriculum includes 'knowledge checkpoints' to ensure the acquisition and retention of key concepts.

COMMERCIAL LINES COVERAGE BASICS (12 HOURS CE)

The Commercial Lines Coverage Basics curriculum addresses key insurance topics, core coverages and risk management. This curriculum is an ideal learning experience for new staff (sales, service, underwriting or administrative) and includes 'knowledge checkpoints' to support concept acquisition and retention. The Commercial Coverage Challenge is also included in this series.

  • Big "I" New Agent Training Solutions - Basics & Beyond is a dynamic, online training program designed to help our member agents take the next step in their insurance education.Developed by industry experts and focused on areas that quickly become problematic - and expensive - when learned through trial and error, Basics & Beyond empowers new and even those more experienced agents with the knowledge needed to make the best decisions for their clients, their agency and their E&O carriers.

  • Big I" Virtual University Live Webinars

  • Big "I" VU is the smarter way to build your knowledge base through online education and research. Virtual University's live webinars are approved for CE in Arkansas and available in a variety of topics designed to train new agents on insurance fundamentals, and reinforce experienced agents' knowledge.

  • Big I Arkansas Ethics and E&O Webinars

  • E&O prevention and ethical practices are two essential parts of a successful agency. Now, you can get CE and professional development from the convenience of your home or office with Big I Arkansas's Ethics and E&O webinars, presented by Diane Powers, CIC,  once every two months via GoToWebinar. Webinars are held on the same day, with Ethics from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and E&O from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM - each qualifies for 3 hours of CE credit. 

    Big I Arkansas members who are E&O policyholders can receive a 10% credit on their policy by sending the required number of staff to this course. For more information, contact debbie@bigiarkansas.com.



4. Earn a Designation

All CIC and CISR courses are now available to attend in-person or virtually through Big I Arkansas! Webinar classes will be live-streamed via GoToWebinar, with no exam required to receive CE credit.
The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation empowers outstanding individuals to provide exceptional account management and customer service. These courses are known for preparing front-line professionals to analyze risks, policies, forms, and claims data and communicate that understanding clearly to their clients, carriers, and colleagues.
CISR courses are held once per month, and all 9 topics will be offered at least once per year. CE approved for all states.

    Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

    Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) are recognized for their expertise and commitment to the industry. The CIC designation represents a career-long commitment to stay on top of important industry changes to provide best-in-class knowledge and best-in-class protection to your clients.
    5 CIC courses will be offered each year. CE approved for all states.
